Canvas and PowerTeacher Pro Gradebook Integration
Workshop participants will walk away with the knowledge necessary to set up PowerTeacher Pro and Canvas LMS to automatically transfer student data from one application to the other. Canvas has developed automated integrations between PowerTeacher Pro and the Canvas learning management system(LMS). This integration populates Canvas with requisite data to create accounts, terms, courses, sections, and users; as well as, create assignments and post grades back into the PowerTeacher Pro Gradebook. The PowerTeacher Pro Gradebook integration is a two-way integration. Assignment groups are collected from PowerTeacher Pro and then imported into Canvas. Grades are sent from the Canvas Gradebook to the PowerTeacher Pro Gradebook.

Using Digital Math Racks to Develop Addition and Subtraction Automaticity in K-1
Math racks are an important tool to help students reason about numbers, subitize, build fluency, and compute using number relationships. Come explore how to use math racks for decomposing, counting on, using the 5 and 10 structure as benchmarks, commutative property, doubles, near doubles, compensation and making ten.

Participants will learn about how number talks with math racks help students model mathematics and make connections between ten-frames number lines, and arrays. Participants will have the chance to experience a number talk while using a math rack on their iPad as well as practice rehearsing number talks and minilessons from two of our district resources Number Talks by Sherry Parrish and Minilessons for Early Addition and Subtraction by Catherine Fosnot and Willem Uittenbogaard.

Bring your iPad please!

Leading From the Heart in Digital Classrooms
With all the digital tools that are available to help us provide outstanding instruction for our students, it can be tempting to forget that relationships lie at the core of teaching and learning. This will be an interactive session that will rest upon presenters modeling and attendants practicing proven techniques to build relationships between teachers and students. It contextualizes the technical, digital training that the teachers will receive throughout the day so that it can be applied with even greater fidelity within the classroom.

Anyone tired of planning, cutting out and gluing interactive notebook lessons that your students will eventually lose in the middle of the year?  This session will provide an overview and the process of creating digital notebooks and portfolios that students can use to define their "academic voice" in the classroom.   Through the use of Google Sites and Google Classroom, students will take ownership of recording their learning experiences without the scissors and glue.  Be prepared to share and spend some time creating your very own Google Site that you can have ready to go on the first day of school.  Bring your laptops, Chromebooks and/or iPads and explore the possibilities of having a paperless and interactive learning environment for your students!

Stop Motion Movies
During this session, I will be introducing a unit project using stop motion movies. I will show two student made stop motion movies and walk through the process used to make them.  I will have the unit papers available where students created a summary of the book, wrote/drew a storyboard for their project, added quotations for what their characters would say, and planning how to present the theme of their story.
After showing the project and modeling how the stop motion movies were created, I will have legos, paper and markers, clay, short stories, and the unit papers available for people to try creating their own.

The goal is to provide an idea on how to incorporate a few literacy and technology standards together and give students a fun way to show their knowledge.

Digital Learning Taps into Ability
Technology and digital access is commonplace in today's world, but simply using technology as a substitution for a lesson/activity does not result in student learning. As educators, we need to use technology to augment, modify, and redefine our use of digital tools. We also need to understand that technology can be used to create, explore, engage, organize, and share work that students have made in creative ways. Participants in the session will be introduced to numerous tools that can serve as resources for these areas [creativity, exploration, engagement, organization, sharing, and creation] and will then use the framework of the SAM-R model to enhance lessons from the UbD documents for their curriculum area.

Increase Student Engagement with Interactive Displays
Using Interactive Displays are ideal in supporting students as they develop critical thinking routines needed to promote deeper thinking skills. These tools challenge students to create, think critically, and solve problems by visually demonstrating their understanding of content. Some of the tools engage students in the lesson by providing instant feedback and formative assessment data to the teacher. Teachers and students will use these tool to foster creativity, communicate their ideas, formatively assess and collaborate effectively with peers. Interactive Displays are applicable to every content area and every grade level.

Do More with Desmos: Exploring Activity Builder
This is a secondary math teacher MUST!

After a brief introduction of the Desmos calculator, participants will explore the more advanced Desmos tool called Activity Builder.

Participants will work through an Activity Builder in the “student role” so they can experience the various input slides that allow every student to interact with the teacher simultaneously.  The various input slides include a graphing calculator, sketch feature, multiple choice questions, open response questions, card sort, and games.  Participants will see how students enter their own work on every slide presented by the teacher, promoting 100% engagement and allowing every student a voice in the classroom.  After completing their student experience, participants will explore the teacher side of Activity Builder.  Participants will learn how to find Desmos Activity Builder lessons that are relevant to their subject area.  They will then choose an activity they would like to explore and learn how to customize the activity for their class. Finally, participants will learn how to create their own Desmos activity.

Come see how Desmos Activity Builders can be created for discovery lessons, classwork, practice, homework, project work, and even assessment in the math classroom.  Examples of various uses of Desmos Activity Builder will be shared with participants.
